A reproach is a source of shame or disgrace and this can bring a lot of distress to an individual. This source of shame is a painful emotion arising from guilt, modesty, disgrace or dishonour. This could happen in the community you live in, your place of work or in your home.

But God is telling you, “Do not fear the reproach of men or be terrified by their insults”. Isaiah 51:7b. No one, whose hope is in God, will ever be put to shame. If you trust in the Lord, you will never be put to shame. Jesus took away your reproach when He suffered and died a shameful death on the cross for you.

If Jesus took away your reproach, you have no business carrying it with you, as this will be classed as excess baggage. Jesus said on the cross, “It is finished”. That is, everything that will bring shame or reproach to you is all finished with. Your salvation, which includes wholeness, divine health, prosperity, divine protection and favour, was all concluded on the cross.

There is a story of a woman called Elizabeth in the bible; she was a descendant of Aaron, a Levite. Her name means “God is my consecration” but she was barren and advanced in years, together with her husband, Zechariah. But the Lord took this reproach from them when He blessed them with a baby boy, John the Baptist, who went before Jesus, in spirit and in power.

Elizabeth said, “The Lord has done this for me. In these days, He has shown His favour and taken away my disgrace among the people”. Luke 1:25.

Child of God, whatever reproach you seem to be facing now, be rest assured that God has taken it away. He will give you praise and honour in every area where you have been put to shame.

God has given you this great promise in His Word, “Instead of their same, my people will receive a double portion, and instead of disgrace, they will rejoice in their inheritance; and so they will inherit a double portion in their land, and everlasting joy will be theirs.” Isaiah 61:7

You may be trusting God for a life partner, fruit of the womb, a job, financial breakthrough and restoration of your marriage right now and think that time is running out. But I encourage you to relax and look unto God for a miracle because He specializes in showing up when you are not expecting it. He is a God of “sudden miracles” and all the glory will go to Him alone. He will surprise you and you will be amazed!

God is already working things out for you and He will take away your reproach. God is so faithful and He will never abandon you; His name will be glorified in your life.

God of Elizabeth will do more than what you expect and surprise you in a big way. People will rejoice with you and they will know that you serve a living and a big God. ALLELUIA!

Just hold on and do not give up and you will celebrate the goodness of the God of the whole universe, very soon. AMEN.  Love, Peace and Joy always.

PRAYER OF SALVATION

If you have not already committed your life to Jesus and you would like to do so now, please pray this prayer:

“Lord Jesus, I am sorry for all the things I have done wrong. Thank you for dying for me on the cross, to set me free from my sins. I ask you to come into my life as my personal Lord and Saviour, and fill me with the Holy Spirit. Thank you Lord Jesus. Amen.”

Congratulations, if you have prayed this prayer. Please look for a Bible-believing church, to fellowship with the brethren. Please do not hesitate to contact me, if I can be of any assistance to you. Remain blessed and enjoy the presence of the Lord.
