The Bible says: “ Be self-controlled and alert. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion, looking for someone to devour”. – 1 Peter 5:8. You are to resist him and stand firm in faith. The adversary will tempt you to doubt God, to hold back, to kick a few tyres, and think that you are not going to make it. But I encourage you to relax. And always remember that God’s unusual plan ends with a rainbow of new hope.
Let us look at the story of a woman, in the Bible, called the Shunammite woman, as her real name was not known. This woman was a woman of influence and a great woman of faith. She went all the way to make sure that Prophet Elisha was comfortable, whenever he visited her town, Shunem. She prepared a small room and put a bed, a table, a chair and a lamp for the Prophet of God. ( 2 Kings 4:8-10 ).
As this woman had no child, the Prophet rewarded her by prophesying into her life that she would “hold a son in her arms, about this time next year” – 2 Kings 4:16. Even though she objected, the Word of God came to pass and she had a son, as the man of God had prophesied – 2 Kings 4:17.
Now, years after she had her son, there was a famine in the land, which would last seven years. Prophet Elisha instructed the woman to go away with her family and stay for a while, because of the impending famine. – 2 Kings 8:1-2. “At the end of the seven years, she came back from the land of the Phillistines and went to the king to beg for her house and land” – 2 Kings 8:3. The king favoured this woman because of her connection with the Prophet. “Then he, (the king) assigned an official to her case and said to him “give back everything that belonged to her, including all the income from her land, from the day she left the country until now” – 2 Kings 8:6b.
PRAYER OF SALVATION

“Lord Jesus, I am sorry for all the things I have done wrong. Thank you for dying for me on the cross, to set me free from my sins. I ask you to come into my life as my personal Lord and Saviour, and fill me with the Holy Spirit. Thank you Lord Jesus. Amen.”
