The bible tells us about the story of Abraham, when God told him, “Take your son, your only son, Isaac, whom you love, and go to the region of Moriah. Sacrifice him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains I will tell you about.” Genesis 22:2. Abraham wasted no time in following God’s instructions.

By faith, Abraham did just as God had commanded him. “Early the next morning, Abraham got up and saddled his donkey. He took with him two of his servants and his son, Isaac. When he had cut enough wood for the burnt offering, he set out for the place God had told him about. On the third day, Abraham looked up and saw the place in the distance. He said to his servants, “stay here with the donkey while I and the boy go over there. We will worship and then we will come back to you”. Genesis 22:3-5.

Abraham believed and then went to see; he did not wait to see before believing! This is God-kind of faith, which God honours at all times. In Genesis 22:9-12, the Bible says,” When they reached the place God had told him about, Abraham built an altar there and arranged wood on it. He bound his son, Isaac, and laid him on the altar, on top of the wood. The he reached out his hand and took the knife to slay his son. But the angel of the Lord called out to him from Heaven, “Abraham, Abraham”.

“Here I am” he replied. “Do not lay a hand on the boy”, he said. “Do not do anything to him. Now I know that you fear God, because you have not withheld from me your son, your only son”. ”Abraham looked up and there in a thicket, he saw a ram caught by its horns. He went over and took the ram and sacrificed it as a burnt offering instead of his son” Genesis 22:13.

Abraham is the father of faith as “he reasoned that God could raise the dead, and figuratively speaking, he did receive Isaac back from death”. Hebrews 11:19. God honoured Abraham’s faith and he learned a lesson we would do well to learn. There will be no complications if you follow God whole-heartedly. God is pleased when you walk by faith and not be sight. This means that you should believe what the Word of God says about any situation you are facing, not what you are experiencing in the physical. Nothing pleases Him more when you put your faith in Him fully.

In the long distant race of faith, you must be prepared to submit to discipline that will correct you and instruct you in your spiritual growth. As you focus on Jesus, with faith, you will be able to accomplish many things, for His Glory. It is very important that God gets all the glory in everything that you do, with faith.

In my walk with God, I have encountered miracles by exercising my faith and watched God move in a mighty way. Child of God, if you have complete faith in God, without doubting or wavering, He will always meet you at your point of need. He always honours His Word and it will not return back to Him void. May God grant you grace so that your faith can be built up and increase, on a daily basis.

PRAYER OF SALVATION

If you have not already committed your life to Jesus and you would like to do so now, please pray this prayer:

“Lord Jesus, I am sorry for all the things I have done wrong. Thank you for dying for me on the cross, to set me free from my sins. I ask you to come into my life as my personal Lord and Saviour, and fill me with the Holy Spirit. Thank you Lord Jesus. Amen.”

Congratulations, if you have prayed this prayer. Please look for a Bible-believing church, to fellowship with the brethren. Please do not hesitate to contact me, if I can be of any assistance to you. Remain blessed and enjoy the presence of the Lord.
