Once you have discovered your calling, through the help of the Holy Spirit, the next step is to fulfil it. (Please see my article, “Discovering your calling.”) Sometimes, what you hear in your spirit will be different from what you hear with your natural ears. Once you understand that, nothing will be more important to you than keeping pace with God, for His direction is always right. His timing is always perfect and His results are always best.

The bible says, “For we are God’s workmanship created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.” Ephesians 2:10. In every step you take, you must be synchronised to the beat of the Holy Spirit. In effect, you cannot do certain things your own way and do some things in God’s way. HIS Spirit must lead you in everything you do for the Lord.

You can fulfil your calling by understanding that God works through you as you engage your mind, open your mouth, move your feet and use your hands to do what He has already put in your heart. Also, by understanding that He never stops calling you to take one more step, do one more thing and engage in one more act of faith.

The moment you say “yes” to God, and move in obedience to His voice, He gives you the ability to perform His will. He does not impart it to you first, and then call you next. No, He calls you and as you step out and obey Him, He imparts it to you. The real challenge is to walk as if you had already arrived at the point to which He is calling you. You should be able to look at your walk, its worthiness, its preparation and its influence, and recognize your calling.

In short, your walk should reflect your calling. God is never content with the status quo or the existing state of affairs. Every day, in countless ways, He would mould you, call you and develop you into a greater and greater likeness of His Son, Jesus Christ. God has a destiny in mind for you. Every day, you will be given new experiences and put into situations that will mature you. You will have the same attitude, the same perspective and the same discernment as HE has.

When you begin to understand that, walking with God will take on a whole new meaning. You will realize that your walk with Him is the only walk that will ever satisfy or fulfil your purpose for being on this earth. You will also experience the greatest joy you have ever known and bring credit to His name every day.

God is really interested when you determine to fulfil your calling and depend on Him fully. HE, who has called you, is faithfully and He will anoint you to do that which He has called you to do. He will not leave you on your own, as He knows you cannot cope by yourself. Your complete dependency on God is of paramount importance.

PRAYER OF SALVATION

If you have not already committed your life to Jesus and you would like to do so now, please pray this prayer:

“Lord Jesus, I am sorry for all the things I have done wrong. Thank you for dying for me on the cross, to set me free from my sins. I ask you to come into my life as my personal Lord and Saviour, and fill me with the Holy Spirit. Thank you Lord Jesus. Amen.”

Congratulations, if you have prayed this prayer. Please look for a Bible-believing church, to fellowship with the brethren. Please do not hesitate to contact me, if I can be of any assistance to you. Remain blessed and enjoy the presence of the Lord.
