You have been fearfully and wonderfully made for assignment on planet earth. When God created you, He had a good plan for you and He has hemmed you into that plan. His mighty Hand is upon your life and He dearly wants you to be in His will and purposes for your life.
The bible tells us about the story of a Jewish woman called Esther, whose name means star. She was an orphan and was brought up by her uncle, Mordecai. When Queen Vashti was deposed by King Xerxes of Persia, Esther was crowned Queen, after she won the contest.
God was at work behind the scenes, to make this happen. The book of Esther is the only book in the bible in which God’s name is not mentioned once, but His Hand is at work, moving from the beginning to the end. He is in control and nothing just happened by chance.
At the time of Esther’s coronation, there was an influential and wealthy leader in the name of Haman, who hated the Jews. He was very jealous of Mordecai, Esther’s uncle, because he would not bow down to him and respect him. Haman became angry and plotted to annihilate the Jews. He would have gotten away with his evil plan if the Hand of God had not worked among His people.
When Mordecai found out about Haman’s plot, he asked Esther to urge the king for mercy and plead with him for the Jews. Esther was reluctant to approach the king, as the protocol was very strict. The only way was for the king to extend the gold sceptre to the Queen.
However, Esther, who had not been aware of the cruel plot against her people, listened to Mordecai’s passionate plea. Mordecai told her, “For if you remain silent at this time, relief and deliverance for the Jews will arise from another place, but you and your father’s family will perish. And who knows but that you have come to royal position for such a time as this”. Esther 4:14.
Esther sprang into action and found ways in which she would expose Haman, the adversary and enemy of the Jews, to the king. The king then ordered Haman to be hanged in the gallows, which, Haman had already built for Mordecai, his archenemy. All the Jews were then delivered from evil Haman.
Only our God could have brought an ending like this one. He used Esther, an orphan girl, to deliver her people from annihilation. God can use anyone to do His work on planet earth. The only requirement is the availability and the willingness of the ones He has chosen.
Joseph, one of Jacob’s sons, was chosen and sent ahead of his brothers to save lives in Egypt. He had to endure hardship after he was sold, by his brothers, into slavery. But God meant it for good and Joseph recognized the sovereignty of God. He knew that he was in God’s will and purposes for his life.
Child of God, you have come for such a time as this. Allow God to use you as His co-worker and all the glory will go to Him alone. He will use you to touch lives and populate His Kingdom. Your co-operation and obedience are very important. I pray that God will give you the grace to obey Him fully, in Jesus’ matchless name. AMEN. PEACE!
PRAYER OF SALVATION
If you have not already committed your life to Jesus and you would like to do so now, please pray this prayer:
“Lord Jesus, I am sorry for all the things I have done wrong. Thank you for dying for me on the cross, to set me free from my sins. I ask you to come into my life as my personal Lord and Saviour, and fill me with the Holy Spirit. Thank you Lord Jesus. Amen.”
Congratulations, if you have prayed this prayer. Please look for a Bible-believing church, to fellowship with the brethren. Please do not hesitate to contact me, if I can be of any assistance to you. Remain blessed and enjoy the presence of the Lord.
