No Bus Stop In “Going-Through” Street – Part 1

Posted by admin on Oct 13th, 2009

Whatever you go through in life, God is in the midst of it. His Word says: “ I will never leave you nor forsake you”. Joshua 1:5b. God may be invisible, but He is in touch. You may not be able to see Him, but He is in control of every situation.

The answer to your problems is in God Himself. He is there by you, and upholding you with His righteous right Hand.

Let us look at the case of a woman called Hannah, in the Bible. Her name means grace or gracious and she was the first of the two wives of a man called Elkanah. The second wife, Peninnah, had children, but Hannah had none – 1 Samuel 1:2. She could not have any children because the Lord had closed her womb- 1 Samuel 1:5b.

God is a God of objectivity. He closed Hannah’s womb because He wanted to prepare that womb, as a Prophet was coming out of it later. In Hannah’s day, the stigma of childlessness was next to adultery. It was, simply stated, one of the worst afflictions a Jewish woman could bear. And Peninnah made sure that Hannah recalled that pain, on a regular basis.

The Bible says “ And because the Lord had closed her womb, her rival kept provoking her, in order to irritate her. This went on year after year. Whenever Hannah went up to the House of the Lord, her rival provoked her till she wept and she could not eat” 1 Samuel 1:6-7.

But there was no bus stop in the “Going-Through” street for Hannah. She had to endure the taunting from Peninnah because she knew she was only going through and she believed that she was coming out, with victory.

She also believed strongly that Her God is more than able to see her through. To this end, she kept going to the House of the Lord in Shiloh, year after year. Hannah was persistent and expectant.

The Bible says, “ In bitterness of soul, Hannah wept much and prayed to the Lord. And she made a vow saying “ O Lord Almighty, if you will look upon your servant’s misery and remember me, and not forget your servant but give her a son, then I will give him to the Lord for all the days of his life, and no razor will ever be used on his head” – 1 Samuel 1: 10-11.

The Lord answered Hannah’s prayer and blessed her with a son whom she named Samuel, saying “because I asked the Lord for him” 1 Samuel 1:20b.

Alleluia to God Almighty.

No Bus Stop In “Going-Through” Street – Part 2

Posted by admin on Oct 13th, 2009

You can see, from Hannah’s experience; the Lord hears when we cry out to Him for help. God was responsible for what happened in Hannah’s life and His timing is perfect. She lived up to her promise, bringing Samuel to the Temple and giving him to Eli, the priest.

What a great woman of faith! She refused to give up when she was going through, because she realised that there was no bus stop. She had to come out of it. Glory to God, Alleluia!

Whenever you are going through any unpleasant situation, I encourage you to remain focussed on God. Always remember that you are coming out, as there is no bus stop in the midst of it. There is no waiting, loading and no parking either. You have to keep moving and trusting God with all of your heart, like Hannah did.

She had a testimony at the end of her going-through. The Bibles tells of Hannah’s prayer of thanks: “My heart rejoices in the Lord; in the Lord my horn is lifted high. My mouth boasts over my enemies for I delight in your deliverance”. 1 Samuel 2:1.

She continued: “It is not by strength that one prevails; those who oppose the Lord will be shattered. He will thunder against them from heaven; the Lord will judge the ends of the earth. He will give strength to his king and exalt the horns of his anointed”. 1 Samuel 2:10.

What a testimony! You will also have a testimony like Hannah did. Just remember that the God, who did it for Hannah, is the same yesterday, today and forever. He is no respecter of persons; what He does for one, He will do for another. He will not leave you or forsake you. It is well with your spirit, soul and body. Amen

DO NOT GIVE UP – you are a winner and winners don’t quit.

YOUR BREAKTHROUGH IS ROUND THE CORNER!!
Victory will be yours, always, in Jesus’ matchless Name. Amen

Remain blessed and enjoy the presence of the Lord.

Faith Is The Currency Of Heaven

Posted by admin on Oct 13th, 2009

The Bible says “ And without faith, it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to Him must believe that He exists and that He rewards those who earnestly seek Him”. Hebrews 11:6.

Just as you recognize pound sterling, dollars, etc as your earthly currency, so also faith is the currency of Heaven. It is very important that you approach God, with faith in your hands, in order to complete the exchange.

You need to exercise the faith that you have, even if it is as small as a mustard seed. The woman with the issue of blood did just this and she was made whole. “Just then, a woman who had been subject to bleeding for twelve years came up behind Him and touched the edge of His cloak. She said to herself, “if I only touch His cloak, I will be healed”. Jesus turned and saw her. “Take heart daughter”, He said “your faith has healed you” And the woman was healed from that moment” Matthew 9:20-22.

This woman had the currency of Heaven in her hands, before she approached Jesus and the exchange was complete. She was made whole! Alleluia. If she had been ashamed of her issue, she would not have received her miracle.

Faith is needed at the beginning of our Christian lives and it is also needed as we continue to walk with our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ.

Faith is believing with our whole heart that God loves us, cares for us and has our interest in mind. Great faith in God means humility, obedience and growth.

Faith must be the motivating factor for all that we do. The blind man, called Bartimaeus, is a good example of this. The Bible says in Mark 10:46-52, “As Jesus and His disciples, together with a large crowd, were leaving the city, a blind man, Bartimaeus (that is the son of Timaeus) was sitting by the road begging, when he heard that it was Jesus of Nazareth, he began to shout “Jesus, Son of David, have mercy on me”

“ Many rebuked him and told him to be quiet, but he shouted all the more, “Son of David, have mercy on me!” “Jesus stopped and said, “call him”. So they called to the blind man, “cheer up! On your feet! He is calling you”. “Throwing his cloak aside, he jumped to his feet and came to Jesus. ”What do you want me to do for you?” Jesus asked. The blind man said, “Rabbi, I want to see”. “Go” said Jesus, “your faith has healed you”. Immediately, he received his sight and followed Jesus
along the road”. Mark 10:46-52

Bartimaeus had the currency of Heaven in his hands and he was very eager to spend it. He was not prepared to let anyone shut him up, as he was very anxious to get healed. He was persistent.

Jesus recognized this in Bartimaeus, and He honoured his great faith; and the exchange was complete.

Bartimaeus had a great testimony! You will also have a great testimony today, as Bartimaeus did, in Jesus’ mighty Name. Amen.

No Compromise – Part 2

Posted by admin on Sep 30th, 2009

Whatever situation you find yourself, never bow down to the enemy. It is very dangerous to do that. Have faith in God and He will see you through, when you do what is right. Remain a person of integrity; some people may misunderstand you, but it does not matter.

The Bible tells us “But there are some Jews, whom you, (king Nebuchadnezzar) have set over the affairs of the province of Babylon- Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego- who pay no attention to you, O king. They neither serve your gods nor worship the image of gold you have set up” – Daniel 3:12. The king told the three Hebrew men that they would be thrown into the blazing furnace if they did not serve his gods. They refused to succumb to the demands of the king because they knew the God they were serving.

“Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego replied to the king “ O Nebuchadnezzar, we do not need to defend ourselves before you in this matter. If we are thrown into the blazing furnace, the God we serve is able to save us from it, and He will rescue us from your hand, O king. But even if He does not, we want you to know, O king, that we will not serve your gods or worship the image of gold you have set up” – Daniel 3:16-18. These three men were great men of faith. They believed and trusted the Almighty God they served and they refused to compromise their God.

The Bible tells us that Nebuchadnezzar was furious with Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego and his attitude towards them changed. He ordered the furnace heated seven times hotter than usual and commanded some of the strongest soldiers in his army to tie up the three Hebrew men and throw them into the blazing furnace.

When you totally believe and trust in the Almighty God; and you do not compromise your faith, He will always show up. He showed up in the blazing furnace as the three men’s FOURTH MAN, Alleluia. They came out of the fire, smelling of roses and not smelling of smoke!

“Then Nebuchadnezzar said “ Praise be to the God of Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego, who has sent His Angel and rescued His servants! They trusted in Him and defied the king’s command and were willing to give up their lives rather than serve or worship any god except their own God”. “ Daniel 3:28

Then the king promoted Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego in the province of Babylon. What a testimony! Even the king, who was an idol worshipper, was amazed at the works of the Most High God. If you find yourself in the furnace of life, just trust in God as Daniel and the three men did; and He will not put you to shame. He will not let you burn in the furnace and promotion will be your portion in the end, in Jesus’ mighty Name. Amen

HOLD ON ! DO NOT COMPROMISE ! NEVER BOW DOWN TO THE ENEMY !

PRAYER OF SALVATION
