God’s Word Is Powerful And Stands Forever – Part 1

Posted by admin on Aug 20th, 2010

The Word of God is the most powerful weapon in the world. It has not got a “sell by” date or a “use by” date. It does not go stale or lose its power. It stands forever and it cannot be equalled. God’s Word never returns back to Him void, without accomplishing that which it has been sent. He sends His Word out and it produces fruit always.

God created the whole of the universe by speaking words. The bible tells us in Genesis 1:1-3, “ In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. Now the earth was formless and empty, darkness was over the surface of the deep, and the Spirit of God was hovering over the waters. And God said, “Let there be light”, and there was light.”

Out of this formless and emptiness, God called forth everything we know: life, light, matter, land, sea, the heavens, vegetation, man, woman, animals and everything else you can think of. He then made a final evaluation of His creative work and declared it to be very good. He put together form and order out of that which was formless and empty.

The Almighty put everything together so that humanity would see His glory. God and His Word are one. “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was with God in the beginning.” John 1:1-2. His Word became flesh, our Lord Jesus Christ, and He made his dwelling among us.

Every Word of God is flawless and He is a shield to those who take refuge in Him. His Word is like fire and like a hammer that shatters a rock into pieces. God’s Word is the sword of the Spirit and it is sharper than any double-edged sword. It cuts swift and deep into our innermost thoughts and desires, with all their parts. It judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart. It is alive, active, powerful, touches hearts and changes lives.

We must endeavour to live by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God, because His Word is powerful and will never fail. Everything else in this world will fail; the grass withers and the flowers fall but the Word of God stands forever. Not one jot of God’s Word will go unfulfilled. As you hold on to His Word, which is the Word of life, you will be in tune with the Almighty God Himself. And He will never disappoint you nor let you go to shame.

PRAYER OF SALVATION

If you have not already committed your life to Jesus and you would like to do so now, please pray this prayer:

“Lord Jesus, I am sorry for all the things I have done wrong. Thank you for dying for me on the cross, to set me free from my sins. I ask you to come into my life as my personal Lord and Saviour, and fill me with the Holy Spirit. Thank you Lord Jesus. Amen.”

God’s Word Is Powerful And Stands Forever – Part 2

Posted by admin on Aug 20th, 2010

As there is power in the Word of God, do not just listen to His Word, but be a doer of His Word. If you accept and do His Word, you will understand the fear of the Lord and find the knowledge of God. Let His Word be a lamp to your feet and a light for your path. And you will never go wrong because God Himself will guide you all the way.

God’s Word is the final answer to our questions and search. It will provide something that nothing else can provide.  It will act as a flashlight to light the path ahead of you and keep you from falling. The Word of God is very important and it will show you the best way to live. You will experience true happiness in life if you follow God’s instructions.

As you confess His Word in any situation you may find yourself, you show that you are agreeing with God. He will honour this and meet you at your point of need. Once you send forth His Word, it goes into the spirit realm and it does not rest until it does what it is sent out to do.

As God’s Word is very powerful, so He has packaged you also with powerful words. Whatever you say is what you get. If you confess negative words, you obtain negative results, but if you confess positive words, you obtain positive results. So we have to be careful what we say and make sure we say the right things always.

Child of God, your miracle is in your hands as God has already completed His work. You need to claim your miracle by confessing the right words, in line with the Word of God. He is waiting on you to claim what belongs to you. As you do this, you will see changes in that situation and you will be amazed at the greatness of God. I encourage you to be careful and watch what you say as you carry the power of God in you.

Let your words be in accordance with His Word always. Keep the fire burning and you will experience the miraculous and the supernatural. When you declare, according to the Word of God, you release your ministering angels to work for you. They are always waiting for you to say something positive, as this is their raw material to work on. If nothing positive is confessed, you make your ministering angels redundant and the enemy will take a foothold. If you want to experience good results always, I encourage you to use words positively, in line with the Word of God.  PEACE

God Is LOVE – Part 1

Posted by admin on Aug 17th, 2010

Love is described as a strong liking or affection for someone or something. There are different kinds of love but the one I want to focus on is the God-kind of love. This is an unconditional love, called “AGAPE Love” and it is matchless. God loves you unconditionally and you do not have to do anything to earn this love. He is our Heavenly father and He first loved us from the creation of the earth.

God’s name is LOVE and He “so loved the world so much that He gave His One and Only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life”. John 3:16. This eternal life is knowing our Heavenly father, the One and true God and also Jesus Christ, whom He sent to us. What a great love!

God gave us all and He gave us the best because of His unequalled love for the world. This is amazing and very powerful indeed. He has not got favourites, as He loves all of us equally. The Lord loves righteousness and justice and the earth is full of His unfailing love, which is priceless. He continues His love to those who know Him and His righteousness to the upright in heart.

God’s love stands firm forever and He will rescue His people. He will maintain His love to you forever and His covenant with you will never fail. He will not take His love from you nor will He ever betray His faithfulness because He is God. His love is great and higher than the heavens. The earth is filled with His love and His unfailing love is your comfort always.

God will preserve your life according to His love and His righteous laws are eternal. Because God loves us so much, His command to us is to “love each other as I have loved you”. John 15:12. Jesus loved His friends even those who betrayed and doubted Him. They were not worthy of His love but because His love made them worthy and that is what love does.

When you decide to love someone unconditionally, then you are operating under the God-kind of love. I encourage you to use Jesus as your role model and do not to react in anger towards your brethren. Choose to live from day to day in such a self-forgetful way and let the love of God flow from you to others.

Amen.”

God Is LOVE – Part 2

Posted by admin on Aug 17th, 2010

If the God-kind of love is in you and your heart is focused on others, you will not be consumed with self, that is  “me, myself and I” syndrome. Our Lord Jesus Christ said “A new command I give you: Love one another. By this all men will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.” John 13:34-35. In all that you say or do, strive to be a shining light so that God’s great love may be displayed in you.

This attitude of love is sometimes the best witness to others. The bible says in Leviticus 19: 18, “Do not seek revenge or bear a grudge against one of your people, but love your neighbour as yourself. I am the Lord”. Your neighbour does not just mean someone close by; your neighbour is anyone who has a need.

If you care for others as yourself, you are portraying the God-kind of love. This should be the business of all who follow Jesus Christ. When you have compassion for your neighbour, you put love into action. Apostle Paul says, “If I give all I possess to the poor and surrender my body to the flames, but have not love, I gain nothing” 1 Corinthians 13:3. If you do everything without of love, then it is a complete waste of time.

The God-kind of love is patient, kind, does not envy or boast and it is not proud. It is not rude or self-seeking and it keeps no record of wrongs. It is not easily angered and it does not delight in evil, but rejoices in the truth. God-kind of love never fails! William Gurnall says “Love never thinks of itself as a loser as long as it keeps its beloved. It is ready for any danger so it can sacrifice itself to its chosen one”.

Child of God, I encourage you to operate under the God-kind of love. Choose to have the right attitude and get encouraged. Do not give up loving your neighbour as God loves you. Most importantly, love yourself and see yourself as God sees you. But do not be in love with yourself; make peace with yourself and appreciate the love God has for you. Then you will be able to love others and see them as God sees them. You will have nothing to lose but a lot to gain if you choose to love in God’s way. If you love your neighbour as yourself, you will live in the light and no longer in darkness.

Our lives should be marked by love for God and others and not obsession with self. As it is not about us, but about Jesus and the people He came to reach, we should strive to live for God and others. When we genuinely love each other, it brings pleasure to our Heavenly Father and His name is glorified.  PEACE!

Amen.”

Meditate On God’s Word Always

Posted by admin on Aug 11th, 2010

Meditation is the act of thinking, reflecting and emptying the mind, in order to concentrate on one thing. It is also the act of contemplation of spiritual matters. When you meditate on the Word of God, you are expressing some desire to allow the Word to work through you.

The bible says in Joshua 1:8, “Do not let this Book of the law depart from your mouth; meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do everything written in it. Then you will be prosperous and successful”. Meditating on God’s Word will give you good success if you do not let it depart from your mouth. Let His Word come alive in your life and you will be amazed at the wonders of God.

Thorough meditation of His Word means to eat it, chew it, digest it and let it sink into your spirit man. Meditate on God’s unfailing love, His works and consider all His mighty deeds. As you do this, success and prosperity will follow you all the time. And the Lord will prove Himself mighty in your life.

If you are going through any trial, meditating on God’s Word and obeying His commands will definitely lift you up. Also meditate on His precepts, all His decrees and wonders. God has got so many promises for you in His Word and meditating on His promises is of paramount importance in your spiritual walk. God will always keep to His promises because He is not a man that He should lie; He is the ALMIGHTY!

You will keep the fire burning in your spirit if you meditate on His Word always. If you delight in the law of the Lord, you will definitely meditate on it day and night. Let your meditation be pleasing to God always and rejoice in Him as you meditate on His Word. Whatever situation you find yourself in, there is a corresponding Word of God you can meditate on. You can use His Word to claim peace and calm in that situation. Once you take hold of God’s Word, you will stop complaining about your situation and you will start enjoying the sweetness of His Word in your heart.

Child of God, be careful to practise this duty of meditation. Do not just talk about His Word in passing, but confess it and invite it to stay in your spirit so that you can fully enjoy it. This will cause your faith to triumph over the most difficult troubles. Your faith will grow tremendously and your doubts will be starved until they disappear.

God’s promises work effectively when you wake with it, walk with it and bind it to your heart. Full meditation will strengthen your faith and dispel any fears that you may have. Always act in faith that God will bring His Word to pass. Meditation fills the heart with heavenly matters and you will experience deliverance from affliction. This will only become a reality when you pray in faith and seek God with all your heart. God will always remember His Word and will bring it to pass. AMEN

Amen.”

God’s Mercies Are Fresh Every Morning

Posted by admin on Aug 6th, 2010

Mercy is the act of showing compassion, clemency and kindness towards another person. When God shows us mercy, He demonstrates that He does not treat us as we deserve. He will have mercy on whom He will have mercy.

The bible says in Lamentations 3:22-23, “Because of the Lord’s great love, we are not consumed, for His compassions never fail. They are new every morning; great is your faithfulness”. God’s mercy is great and He will not let you fall into the hands of your enemies. His great mercy and love are from old and He will always remember you. He is a good God and He loves you with an everlasting love. Let your soul take refuge in Him and He will have mercy on you.

The Lord knows that you use up His mercy on a daily basis; hence His mercies are fresh every morning. He shows you mercy because of His compassion for you. He hears you when you cry out for mercy because He is your strength and shield. He has redeemed you and He will carry you on His wings. As a father has compassion on his children, so the Lord has compassion on those who fear Him.

Even in His wrath, God shows mercy because His ways are eternal. But, be careful not to take His grace and mercy for granted! As God is so merciful, He wants us to show mercy and compassion to one another. We should not oppress our brethren and not think evil of each other. If you are merciful to your brethren, you will be shown mercy. God’s mercy extends to those who fear Him from generation to generation. In view of God’s mercy, we should offer our bodies as living sacrifices, holy and pleasing to Him.

Sometimes, we forget that each day is a second chance offered to us because of the great mercy of God. As He is a God of second chances, we can choose to live with thankfulness, for His mercy and Grace. We can also have confidence in His faithful care and with the hope that He is with us forever.

Child of God, I encourage you to make the most of the second chance God is offering you. He opens the door to a brand new day and with it comes mercies from His gracious hand. Always remember that it is a privilege from the Almighty, and not our right.

God’s way is to give us fresh mercies every day. His name is LOVE and His mercies will never fail. As a child of God, clothe yourself with compassion and kindness for others, just as the Lord does for you.  In our walk with God, we should strive to be Christ-like and glorify God at all times.  PEACE

Promotion Only Comes From The Lord

Posted by admin on Jul 29th, 2010

Promotion is an encouragement to advance from one level to a higher level. It is an elevation in position or rank either in your workplace, ministry or community. Promotion does not come from the east, west, north or south; it only comes from the Lord.

The bible says in Psalm 75:6-7, “No one from the east or the west or from the desert can exalt a man. But it is God who judges: He brings one down, He exalts another.”  It is advisable not to look unto man or impress him so that he can promote you. If man promotes you today, he can demote you tomorrow. But when God promotes you, no one can ever demote you. You will enjoy the promotion with peace and joy and HIS name will be glorified in your life.

Our great father, Abraham, was instructed by God to leave his country, people and his father’s household, to go to the land God would show him. The Lord promised Abraham, “ I will make you into a great nation and I will bless you; I will make your name great and you will be a blessing. I will bless those who bless you and whoever curses you I will curse; and all peoples on the earth will be blessed through you”. Genesis 12:2-3

Abraham obeyed God and demonstrated great faith by moving into the unknown. He had to leave his “comfort zone” but he knew that God was with him. The Lord blessed Abraham indeed and promoted him to the position of “father of many nations”. Wow! What a great promotion!

Joseph, one of Jacob’s sons, suffered at the hands of his brothers when they sold him into slavery in Egypt. He went from the pit to prison and God promoted him to the position of “prime minister” of Egypt. God allowed Joseph to pass through all these hurdles because HE knew the end from the beginning. He knew that a big promotion was awaiting Joseph.

Ruth, a Moabitess woman, went through hard times when she lost her husband. She chose to remain committed to Naomi, her mother-in-law; and God came close to Ruth and stayed with her. At the end of all her problems, the Lord provided her with another husband, Boaz. Ruth became the great, great, great grandmother of our Lord, Jesus Christ. God chose her to be in the genealogy of Jesus.

Child of God, I encourage you to trust God to promote you, whether in your ministry, place of work or in your community. He has got the ultimate power to promote you and no one can bring you down. Our God will shut every wrong door in your life and open the right doors for you. You will be amazed at His miracles and awesomeness. Look unto God only and not on man. Enjoy the promotion of the Lord. PEACE!

PRAYER OF SALVATION

Choose To Have An Excellent Spirit- Part 1

Posted by admin on Jul 20th, 2010

Whatever you do in life, be determined to do it in an exceptional way. Excellence in all things is the key, as you will have very good and outstanding results always. When you put God first in everything, you have completeness and wholeness.

You become a person of integrity; honesty and sincerity will become some of your character traits. Your character is a combination of qualities that distinguishes you as a person. Your real character is not what your portray in the presence of your friends, family or people around you. It is what you do in private, when no one, but God is watching, as He is everywhere.

God is a God of excellence and He demonstrated this when He created the universe. Everything He created was excellent and He is a God of detail. The bible tells in Genesis 1:31a, “ God saw all that He had made and it was very good”. He made you and I in a fearful and wonderful way and He created everything perfectly.

Joseph, the eleventh son of Jacob, had an excellent spirit. After his brothers sold him, he was taken down to Egypt and ended up in the house of Potiphar, one of Pharaoh’s officials. The Lord was with Joseph and he found favour in the eyes of Potiphar, who put Joseph in charge of his household. But then, Mrs Potiphar had another agenda and she tried to seduce Joseph. He decided to “leave his cloak in her hand and run out of the house”. Genesis 39:13b

Joseph chose to preserve his character because an excellent spirit was in him. He had a combination of qualities that distinguished him from other people. His moral strength, reputation and disposition were excellent. He did not allow his circumstances lead him to sin and he took a stand to do the right thing. This landed Joseph in prison but he would not have had it any other way.

God’s name was glorified in the life of Joseph because he refused to compromise his faith. He chose to have an excellent spirit and he knew all along that God was with him. He had a rough ride in life because he shared his dreams with his brothers, who became jealous of him. But God’s name was glorified at the end of it. What his brothers meant for evil, God meant it for good.

Joseph had to go from the pit to Potiphar’s house, then to prison, and God promoted him to the palace. These were the four “P”s of Joseph’s life. He became the “Prime Minister” of Egypt because he decided to be a man of excellence. He recognized the sovereignty of God in his life and he knew that He was with him always. And God used him mightily to bless his people.   Praise God!

PRAYER OF SALVATION

Choose To Have An Excellent Spirit – Part 2

Posted by admin on Jul 20th, 2010

Another example of excellent spirit is Daniel, who was a man of absolute integrity and he had the finest kind of strength. He had great faith; and his attitude and exceptional qualities distinguished him above all people around him. The bible says in Daniel 6:3, “Now Daniel so distinguished himself among the administrators and the satraps by his exceptional qualities that the king planned to set him over the whole kingdom”.

The administrators tried to find grounds for charges against Daniel but they could find no corruption in him because he was trustworthy. “Finally, these men said, “We will never find any basis for charges against this man Daniel unless it had something to do with the law of his God”. Daniel 6:5

So the administrators went to King Darius and asked him to issue an edict. They enforced a decree that anyone found praying to any god or man except to the king within thirty days, he should be thrown into the lions’ den. But Daniel refused to pay any attention to this decree because he would not compromise his faith.

“Now when Daniel learned that the decree had been published, he went home to his upstairs room where the windows opened toward Jerusalem. Three times a day he got down on his knees and prayed, giving thanks to his God, just as he had done before. Then these men went as a group and found Daniel praying and asking God for help. So they went to the king and spoke to him about his royal decree” Daniel 6:10-12a

So the administrators reported Daniel to the king and he ordered that Daniel should be thrown into the lions’ den. A stone was placed over the lions’ den and the king sealed it with his signet ring. But the king could not sleep all night! When Daniel was in the lions’ den, God sent His angel and he shut the mouths of the lions. The king was the first to get up at dawn and he hurried up to the lions’ den to see what had become of Daniel.

The king was overjoyed that the lions did not attack Daniel, and no wound was found on him. He gave orders that Daniel be lifted out of the den. He also gave orders for those who had falsely accused him to be thrown into the den, along with their wives and children. He issued a decree that in every part of his kingdom, people must fear the God of Daniel.

So Daniel prospered during the reign of king Darius, because he had an excellent spirit. Daniel’s life proves that a person with an excellent spirit is a powerful instrument in the hands of God. To be a man or woman of integrity is not easy but it is better not to compromise your faith. People of integrity are often misunderstood and falsely accused but God always shows up for them.

In our Christian walk, we should strive to be Christ-like in everything we do. It is impossible to please God without faith and when you compromise your faith, you do not please Him. Our Lord Jesus Christ did all things with the spirit of excellence. Even when He was going through floggings and crucifixion on the cross because of us, He did not complain. He wanted His Father’s will to be done. He was determined to please His heavenly Father.

Child of God, I encourage you to do all things with an excellent spirit, whether in your place of work, home, ministry and community. As you do this, you honour God and not man. Strive to serve well,  gain an excellent standing and great assurance in your faith in Christ Jesus.     PEACE

Magnify God Only And Not Your Challenges

Posted by admin on Jul 12th, 2010

Challenges come in all shapes and sizes and they are problems that stimulate effort. When you choose to magnify your challenges and not God, you have a wasted effort, as results are not evident. When you magnify a challenge, you increase the apparent size of it and it does not glorify God.

In fact, you are demonstrating that your challenges are bigger than God, and this is not true. But when you magnify God instead of your challenges, you invite Him to be in absolute control. He will take charge and show Himself mighty in that challenge you are facing, because He is in the midst of it.

Our God is a big God and He is more than able to sort things out for you. Magnifying God means you are even making Him bigger than ever! When Mary was chosen to be the mother of our Lord, Jesus Christ, she was a young teenager at the time. She was already betrothed to a man, called Joseph. But then, the angel of the Lord told her that she was highly favoured of the Lord; and that she would be with child and give birth to a son, named Jesus.

Mary asked the angel, “How will this be, since I am a virgin?”. The angel answered, “The Holy Spirit will come upon you, and the power of the Most High will overshadow you. So the Holy One to be born will be called the Son of God.” Luke 1:34-35. Mary then answered the angel, “I am the Lord’s servant. May it be unto me as you have said”?  Luke 1:38a

This is powerful! Here was a young girl, who was given a startling message by an angel. This was a challenge to her as she was already betrothed to Joseph. She understood that people would talk and ask questions about her new condition. But then, she understood fully well that she was a chosen instrument of God and she was willing to be used by the Lord. She did not argue with the angel; instead she trusted God completely that He would not let her suffer shame. She accepted to be the handmaid of the Lord.

Mary’s life was about to change forever but she remained focussed on God. She did not ask questions of disbelief, she only asked questions of wonder. She was assured that God was with her and she was a recipient of God’s grace. She was the one selected by God to help carry out His purposes and execute His plan through the promised Messiah, Jesus Christ.

As soon as Mary realised that she was, in fact, going to give birth to the Son of God, she humbly and rightly acknowledged her position. She praised God and magnified Him for honouring her. She said, “My soul magnifies the Lord and my spirit rejoices in God my Saviour, for He has been mindful of His servant. From now on, all generations will call me blessed, for the Mighty One has done great things for me, holy is His name”. Luke 1:46-49

What an awesome action to take!  Mary decided to magnify God and not magnify the challenge she was facing. She decided to trust the Lord completely and yield herself to His leadership. She recognized the sovereignty and the greatness of God. She knew fully well that He would not disappoint her, because He is the Almighty God.

Child of God, I encourage you to magnify God always, even in the midst of challenges; and let your spirit rejoice in Him. Glorify Him and see the amazing miracles He will work in your life. Every challenge you go through is a stepping-stone to your promotion. Do not magnify your challenges. Choose to magnify God instead, praise Him and worship Him for who He is. In doing this, He will show up in that challenge, fill you with good things and divine favour will be yours.   PEACE
